Euronext Dublin is the National Numbering Agency for ISINs (International Security Identification Number) and member of ANNA (Association of National Numbering Agencies). We are responsible for issuance and maintenance of ISIN codes in Ireland. We are also responsible for allocating CFI (Classification of Financial Instruments) and FISN (Financial Instrument Short Name).

An International Securities Identification Number (ISIN) is recognised as the global standard for unique identification of financial instruments.
An ISIN is a 12-character alpha-numerical code.

What is CFI?
The CFI (classification of financial instruments) code is used to define and describe financial instruments as a uniform set of codes for all market participants.
The CFI consists of six alphabetical characters.

What is FISN?
The FISN (Financial Instrument Short Name) provides a consistent and uniform approach to standardise short names and descriptions for financial instruments. The FISN consists of up to maximum of 35 characters, composed by issuer short name, and instrument description.

Once registered, login and complete the online submission form and attach all relevant supporting documentation.
Once submitted a confirmation page containing ISIN submission details will appear with the ISIN application Reference number.
We review the online submission and will send you a query if any further clarification is required.
ISIN delivery includes FISN and CFI Codes
Once we validate your submission, we issue ISIN(s), FISN(s) and CFI codes and will you send you a confirmation email containing these codes.
Your account details will also be updated to include the ISIN(s).

Once registered, login and complete the online update form and attach all relevant supporting documentation.
Once submitted a confirmation page containing updated details will appear with the ISIN application ID.
We review the update submission and will send you a query if further clarification is required.
Once the update submission is validated, we will make the requested changes and notify you.
We will also amend the FISN if applicable and will provide the updated FISN in the confirmation email.

As all ISIN applications are for Irish entities, VAT is always applied.
How to Pay
You pay in advance for the service. There are two options:
- Pay as you go - Pay by credit card (using Realex) or PayPal at the time of submission.
- Set up a prepaid account with us – this requires a pre-approved agreement with Euronext Dublin which takes approx. 2 weeks to set up. Please email our Finance Department email@example.com if you are interested in this option. If you have an existing pre-paid account you can extend this to include unlisted ISINs processing.
How do I set up an account with PayPal?
You need to set up a PayPal business account. PayPal facilitates multi-currency payment through bank transfer or direct from an established PayPal business account so this may be a suitable alternative for some users.

Can the entity applying to Euronext Dublin for an ISIN be domiciled in a country other than Ireland?
No. An entity applying to Euronext Dublin must be domiciled in Ireland, domiciled entities from other countries should apply to their local National Numbering Agency (NNA).
I have an ISIN code - how do I get a CFI and FISN code?
If you have an ISIN, you can simply email firstname.lastname@example.org, include the ISIN and we will provide you with the CFI and FISN codes free of charge.
What is a bulk ISIN application?
A bulk ISIN application is a new process introduced to enable our customers to submit large ISIN requests using our bulk upload service.
I have uploaded my file and received file validation errors, what do I do?
If you have received a validation error, you will receive a message detailing the error and the row number. You should refer to the Data Guide to ensure you are populating the template correctly. You will need to delete the file and re-upload it with a corrected Template.
I have just submitted my bulk request, when will I receive my codes?
We aim to issue ISIN codes for bulk applications within 1-2 business days.
Do I have to download the Bulk ISIN template each time?
No. We encourage frequent ISIN customers to download and save each template to their desktop so it can be re-used.
Is the bulk functionality only available for funds?
Yes, at the moment you can only apply for a bulk application for a fund. For Debt and Equity applications please continue to use the existing process.
What is the minimum amount of codes I can apply for using the bulk upload?
The minimum amount of ISIN codes you can apply for is one code.
What is the maximum amount of codes I can apply for using the bulk upload?
The maximum amount of ISIN codes you can apply for in one application is 150 codes. If you require more then 150 codes, please submit a second request.
Can I use the existing process to apply for ISIN codes?
Yes. The existing process for applying for ISINs remains available for Debt, Fund and Equity.
I need to submit an ISIN update, has the processed changed?
No. The process for ISIN updates remain unchanged.
